RED SUN – Songs From Hidden Places (LP sleeve cover)

Front sleeve.

RED SUN formed in 2015 with the aim of giving structure and direction to the long, immersive jam sessions that defined their nights in a rehearsal space inside an old mill in the Piacenza countryside. Over a decade-long journey, the band has released four full-length albums and a split record via Vincebus Eruptum, while also building a strong live reputation across Europe through extensive touring and appearances at major festivals—an aspect of their work they particularly value.

Their early output was entirely instrumental, tracing an evolution from desert-influenced stoner rock toward more expansive psychedelic territories, gradually enriched by a growing presence of synthesizers and theremin. With their latest release on Subsound Records, the Roman label that also issued their 2024 album *From Sunset to Dawn*, RED SUN further consolidates this partnership.

The new album, *Songs from Hidden Places*, marks a significant shift with the introduction of vocalist Elisa Brusati, whose voice appears consistently across all seven tracks. The song-based format aligns naturally with the band’s evolving identity, enhancing the expressive scope of their sound and the narrative intent behind each release.

At its core, *Songs from Hidden Places* explores the idea of “hidden places”—both physical and internal—seen as spaces of refuge, intimacy, and emotional grounding.

The current lineup features Federico Rivoli on drums and synthesizers, Stefano “Eno” Dusi on guitar, Mirco Dugaria on bass, and Elisa Brusati on vocals and theremin.
